CHICAGO, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Strategic Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: BEE) today announced that its board of directors has elected Ryan Bowie to the position of vice president and treasurer. Mr. Bowie, who previously served as assistant treasurer of the company, will continue to report to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer James Mead.

Mr. Bowie joined Strategic Hotels & Resorts in 2003 as director, corporate finance and played an instrumental role in the company's initial public offering in June 2004. During his tenure he has completed in excess of $4.5 billion in equity and debt transactions within North America and Europe. As vice president and treasurer, he will be responsible for capital markets transactions, corporate forecasting, cash management and general treasury functions. Mr. Bowie also will continue to participate in the analyst and investor relations functions for the company.

Mr. Bowie is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science.
